9/24/15 - Breaux Bridge, LA
We washed three loads of clothes this
morning. The nursing home called me and
said mom dropped her glasses and bent over in her wheelchair to pick them up
off the floor and she fell out and hit her head. They had called 911 to have an ambulance take her to the hospital across the
street to get her checked out. I called my
brother to see if he wanted to go meet her there. He was at a doctor appointment next door to the hospital so he went
over to be with her when he finished.
He called and said they were going to do a cat scan to make sure she
didn’t fracture any facial bones and check out her neck. After it was done he called me to say she
had some bleeding in her head (subdural hematoma) and they were sending mom by
Life Flight to Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Jim and I hooked up and then left camp.
We drove from Trenton, Georgia through Alabama and Mississippi and
stopped in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana at the Walmart to get a little sleep. We arrived at midnight and after having a
sandwich and yogurt, we went to sleep at 1 am.
Jim drove 671 miles today.
