6/19/15 - Lexington, KY

We left Cumberland Gap this morning and stopped at Kroger for a few items and then I had to go to the post office to mail some letters.  Then we headed off to Lexington.  On the way we came upon a sign on the highway in Corbin, KY that pointed to Colonel Harlan Sanders Café and Museum.  Col. Sanders started his Kentucky Fried Chicken empire here.  There is a KFC restaurant and a small museum which includes a reproduction of Col. Sanders’ original restaurant and kitchen.  We had chicken for lunch and looked around the museum.  Jim found us a place to camp really close to Lexington at Kentucky Horse Park Campground.  The Kentucky Horse Park is a horse oriented theme park.  Lexington, KY is in the middle of the Kentucky bluegrass country and is known as the horse capital of the world.  There are beautiful horse farms all around with huge mansion houses.  After unhooking the trailer we went into town and visited five breweries - Blue Stallion, Chase, West 6th, Country Boy and Ethereal..
