The low last night was 44 degrees and when we
got up at 8 am the temperature was 54.
Jim made breakfast sandwiches this morning for us and he worked on the
blog. We left camp around noon and
drove to Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC). This is an outdoor theater
similar to Miller Outdoor Theater in Houston.
It has covered seats and a hill to sit on with blankets or lawn
chairs. The main difference is you pay
here to get in and all Miller Outdoor Theater events are free. Also, unlike Miller Theater, SPAC has many columns in the way that block your
line of sight from the seats and from the hill.
We saw the New York City Ballet in a matinee performance. The program was Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic
Dances, Hindemith’s Four Tempraments, and Bizet’s Symphony in C. No pictures were allowed but I secretly took one as the performers were taking a bow. Then we drove south to Shmaltz Brewing in
Clifton Park, NY. They make the He’brew
brand beers. Their beers have Jewish
themes with names like Hop Manna IPA, Circum Session Ale, Messiah Nut Brown Ale,
etc. They were all really good. I made stir fry beef for supper tonight.
