6/16/15 - Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, TN

Today we took a hike to Falls Branch Overlook.  We could either walk 7 miles from the campground or drive 4 miles into the forest on a narrow gravel road and then walk 1 mile. Guess which one we did.  Along the trail was a grave of a baby whose parents owned land there at one time.  The flies were bad at the trailhead so we put on our head nets over our hats.  After returning to the Casita and having lunch we drove to the East Rim overlook.  Then we took our chairs and chilled out in the river at the Leatherwood Ford Access.  The water was clear and cool.  Jim grilled sausage and I made sides and then the thunder started.  We cleaned up, took down the screen shelter and then went inside the Casita just before it started raining.
