9/13/15 - Asheville, NC

Kim, Steve and Mike have gone to Charlotte where they will catch their plane to fly home today.  Jim and I left our site on the French Broad River and moved to Lake Powhattan Recreation Area in the Pisgah National Forest.  We have full hook ups and a campsite in the woods.  Jim wanted to go to Sierra Nevada Brewing in Mills River.  We have been to the original brewery in Chico, California.  This brewery is huge, beautiful and is a state of the art facility.  Ninety minute tours are reserved for months ahead of time so we went on a self guided tour.  Today being Sunday there wasn’t anything happening so it was just as well that we couldn’t book the 90 minute tour. We each had a 4 beer sampler and then got a pint to drink.  

 We left Sierra Nevada and went back to Asheville to One World Brewing.  This brewery is underground and is really dark.  Their brewing system is only about twice the size of Jim’s homebrew rig.  Tonight was the Cowboy – Giants game and we went to Asheville Brewing to watch it.  We had an appetizer and water, and then we got supper and a beer.  I had a spinach burger.  It was really, really good.  We watched the game until half time and then left as it was 10 pm by then.
