9/16/15 - Asheville, NC

After breakfast we drove to Flat Rock and toured the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site.  He bought this house and farm in 1945 and lived there until he died in 1967.  His wife had a goat herd there and she bred prize winning goats and sold goat milk.  Descendants of her goats are still on the farm.  We went on a tour of the house.  It was being refurbished and many of the contents were boxed up.  Then we walked around the downtown main street of Hendersonville.  This cute little town had shops like Fredericksburg, Texas.  On the street corners were decorated bear statues.  Jim went in a thrift store and bought a South Carolina map atlas and a music CD and I bought three adult coloring books and some colored pencils.  Then we drove to Southern Appalachian Brewing.  While we were there, Jim updated the blog using their wi-fi.
