7/30/15 - Milton, NJ

Today we drove to Liberty Park in New Jersey and rode the ferry to Ellis Island and to the Statue of Liberty.  It took us two hours to drive to the ferry.  For the last few days it has been beautifully sunny.  Today’s forecast is for rain.  We toured the main building on Ellis Island and then went to the Statue of Liberty.  We couldn’t get tickets to walk up to the crown but we did get tickets to go the pedestal museum.  We were standing in line for the ferry back to the mainland and it started to rain.  It rained on us nearly all the way back to camp.  On the way back we stopped in Woodbridge and had a beer at J.J. Bitting Brewing.
