8/15/15 - Clinton, MD

This morning we drove to the train station and rode into Washington D.C.   Here is a list of the sites we saw today.

Ford’s Theatre and the house where President Lincoln died

The Old Post Office (now closed for renovation for a hotel by Donald Trump)

The Mall (they are replacing the grass)

Monument Lodge and the Washington Monument

The WWII Memorial

Constitution Gardens

The Lincoln Memorial

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial

West Potomac Park

Martin Luther King Jr, Memorial

Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial

Thomas Jefferson Memorial

Japanese Pagoda and Cherry Trees

George Mason Memorial

The White House and the National Christmas Tree

Then we walked to Capital City Brewing.  Then took the train back the Silverado.  In total today we walked nearly 23,000 steps and around 10 miles.
