8/20/15 - Clinton, MD

We took the train into Washington DC again today.  The first stop was at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum.  They had Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis and the Wright brothers' first airplane.  Then we walked to the Smithsonian Castle.  This was the first Smithsonian Museum and is where James Smithson is interred.  He lived in Scotland and left all his fortune for an institution to be set up in the U.S.  Next we went to the Hirschhorn Museum and then went back to the Casita earlier today than the last couple of days.  Jim wanted to go to the American Legion and use their wi-fi to work on the blog.  I cooked supper and Jim watched the Washington Redskins football game.
